    This happened to my parents in Florida as well. They went to buy a used Lexus and had the car for two or three days before the dealership called back letting them know that their financing was denied. If they wanted to keep the car, they would have to agree to some crazy interest rate.

    In the early 2000's, our neighbor had a son in his late teens/early 2o’s that lived at home. Dude bought a Concorde, which always seemed so strange to me. Now I know why.
