Except barefoot runners don’t run heel-toe.  They run mostly on the balls of their feet.  Entirely different mechanics.

Taking bets the manager will get fired the minute the attention dies down on this one.

This used to happen a lot when we lived in a different area: finding stay dogs, practically once a month. One time I came across a dog that had clearly been on his own for a very long time. Had a collar but no tag. A friend had suggested I put a posting up on a local lost pet website, but instead I decided to look at

California may be objectively the best state in the union (do not email me), but it has a lot of problems: Wildfires, rampant inequality, and a terrible housing (and homelessness) crisis.

Whatever happened to party unity, huh?

I’m glad you’re giving me the attention I so obviously crave.

Oh, I do have my regional burger favorites too, but like you I don’t find the argument relevant, which is why I used BK as a reference.

How the hell is this not the first thing posted? Very disappointed in the commentariat today.

Shake Shack is overpriced as hell for a middling burger. I’d rather go to Burger King because at least I know I’m not getting robbed for that middling burger.

I’ll never forget an interview that Dan Akroyd gave years ago, when he mentioned the idea that if you get a different job than what you went to college for, that you’ve somehow wasted your education.  He continued by saying that he has a degree in criminology with an abnormal psychology minor and that he works in show

Preach!

We eat out roughly once a month.  Most of the time we make our own meals at home, but we do like to go out here and there, and we avoid chain restaurants like the plague.  So, for us, we can still spend $80 all-in and have a very good meal.

Excellent work making Hamilton’s entire point.

Sigh. You’re so sweet.  The “law” may not require you to outspend anybody, but the “lawyer” sure as shit will.  I guess you can count yourself as exceedingly fortunate that you’ve never had to deal with a serious legal matter while fighting an opponent with almost unlimited resources.

You know as well as I do that employers of all stripes do illegal shit all the time because they know damned well their employees can’t afford to take them to court over it.

Comb?! Hell, if I had the luxury of a comb!  My fingers are my fork, Mr. Rockefeller.

I figured as much. It’s relevant because you have to know how this shit works. If you are making $2.13/hour, you are living on the whims of customer tips. This means you need to work the best shifts and (if you’re a server) in the best sections in order to make a decent living. It also means you don’t typically have a
