“There is no reason to assume good faith on behalf of companies who deserve none,” wrote Twitch streamer CaseyExplosion on Twitter over the weekend. “They’ll raise prices if people will pay, and keep all the rest of the slimy, predatory crap too. It’s not a case of either or, and we’re not in any kind of position to…
Regarding FFVII, it is literally the same price on PS5 and PC. That’s the digital cost I’m talking about, so I’m just gonna cut off your comment about physical media by pointing out that physical and digital releases have had the exact same pricepoints for a decade or longer now... if it wasn’t an issue then, why…
Counterpoint: Xbox Game Pass makes it to where I’m not spending ungodly prices for new games anymore. $15/month and I’m playing Halo on day one.
The era owning and paying full price for games is slipping away just like for buying movies.
I need to get this Hades monkey off my back. I beat it, then I beat it again and again and again until I got the credits, but it seems I’m not quite done yet and there is story yet to uncover. True to the spirit of the game, I’m going to do this as many times as it takes, but I hope I get there soon, because I have a…
In case you were wondering how this was received:
It’s pretty cool that Microsoft released something like this. Shows a bit of humility and shows how far they have come.
“These people would just as easily jump ship to a non-gaming company if the financial package was more attractive.”
Nah Sherlock, that’s just what internal corporate emails look like.
We already have this, its called amiibos.
If, for example, you buy a skin in Fortnite, you are essentially buying an “NFT” - it’s a digital good that is unique to you. There’s no need to insert blockchain into it, especially since I’m guessing that Ubisoft wants to maintain control of its IP.
Yeah, I mean even if you’re like one of those cryptocultists that think the blockchain is just pure magic that can make anything better, the entire draw of it is it’s decentralization.
Ubisoft claims it’s investing in blockchain so players can be “true stakeholders of its [game] worlds,”.
Blockchain itself isn’t the part that causes a waste of resources, it’s the proof of work aspect that has everyone competing to get the next block hash.
I’d have been shocked if that one got revived. That game was about as fun and visually appealing as the waiting room at a doctor’s office.
I’m going to be rude:
It does have offline, but TCP/IP for MP isn’t available. Realistically most people would still choose to play online so I don’t think having the TCP/IP option would affect anything to a noticeable degree here. I also think not mixing the two, which would be the other option, is not a good idea.
The funniest part is how they forced it to be online only. If it had offline and TPC/IP that the OG version had like they originally promised this likely wouldn’t even be an issue. Self inflicted.
It is an amazingly trash launch, which is sad because the game itself is amazing. Like, the amount of detail and attention is just gob-smacking, and D2 still plays well enough that this could honestly hold up as a brand new (albeit surprisingly unforgiving for a modern game) release. Hell, it’s miles better to play OR…
Then again, the “Bullshit” meme from the second trial demo is the new hotness. Square-Enix and Koei Tecmo are either incredibly oblivious or genius level viral marketers at this point.
