I added a drain plug to the tranny pan on my 1967 Ford Mustang GTA Fastback so I could change the transmission fluid for the C-6 without having to drop the entire pan and install a new gasket. You can get a drain plug that is magnetic to collect metal shavings so you can ascertain whether a rebuild is on the cards.
