Yeah, I find the gnawing a bit much. I'll occasionally bite a stray hangnail or dull a torn edge with my teeth, but I have several family members who gnaw continually at their nails and spit them out in little splats (ptew...ptew...ptew).

I make my dogs' food from a specific recipe that takes all their nutritional needs into account, and it's all human grade food. If I weren't a vegetarian I could eat it myself (except that it's pretty bland).
