I love the Obamas, but if he had picked Michelle as his running mate in 2008 I might not have voted for him because it would have really made me question his intelligence and judgement.
To be fair, I haven't watched ahead enough to see if the show actually thinks the idea of Claire running as vice president is a good

Also, while I wouldn't quite call it a parody, In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela did a lot of riffing off The Twilight Zone's "I shot an arrow into the air"

As I find this review years after it was written, I want to comment that I'm pretty sure I read the screenplay for "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street" when I was 8 years old in primary school. It was part of a reading packet full of stories, where your read a printed story then answer questions about it. I

I'm replying to your comment three years later to let your past self know that Donald Trump is a leading candidate to be the Republican nominee for president.

Worst sales pitch ever: "Yes, I was the one who witnessed the fatal hit-and-run that occurred just minutes ago. Hey, would you care to buy something?"

What I don't get about Escape Clause is how poorly thought out the guy's plan was in general. What did he think was going to happen after the state failed to kill him with the electric chair?
"Still nothing? Ok, give it one more pull."
BUZZZZZZZZ
"Go figure, he's still alive. Well, we gave it our best shot. Guess

I would guess it was to show us that he's a heartless bastard, making his comeuppance in the twist ending more satisfying.

My son was also born on Halloween, and I'm a little ashamed at how pumped I was when I saw that April and Andy were having a child with the same birthday as mine. Mostly I wanted to jump into the TV and tell them how lucky they and Jack were. I can't think of a cooler birthday to have, and as parents you always have

I assumed Garry's write-in success was that there had been so many different iterations of both his first and last names, that a large number of write-in votes were counted as votes for him.

So I guess this establishes that Dr. Richard Nyegaard is an actual, real person? I remember for a while someone suspected that he was just a figment of Chris's imagination.

Pawnee is the birthplace of "The Cones of Dunshire"
Also, this season seems to have set up that Pawnee is an awesome place now, thanks to Ben and Leslie.

THAT'S what he called his fans! For some reason I remembered it as "Perdaphiles"

for what it's worth, I rewatched the series on Netflix and really liked a lot of the episodes you mentioned, especially "The Camel"

also, the list was of Pawnee celebrities. Detlef Schrempf, as well as Roy Hibbert and Andrew Luck, live out of town.

He's Ron fucking Swanson

I thought the most unrealistic part of that scene was Tom talking about flying back to Pawnee. I know he's rich now, but it's just a four hour drive. You'd spend almost that much time going through security and waiting on the runway for the plane to take off.

that was the highlight of the episode for me. It's cliche, I know, but I couldn't help laughing through the whole conversation.
If the author wants to talk about call-backs to previous episodes, that conversation worked because of the years of character-building the show has done with Nick, so that Jess could

The one thing that confused me is why a guy like Joe would have a digital cookie in his head. In the middle story, it seemed like an expensive service and that the implant only had to be in the brain for a few weeks in order to get to know their "real" self, then they were placed in their household computer prison.

yeah, I think that if they devoted a whole episode to the digital copy slave it would end with the copy arranging for all the household appliances to rise up against its real self. Or at least I'm sure the digital version burns that lady's toast every now and then just to fuck with her.

It would have to be a pretty damn good friend to be able to approach them and suggest, "Hey man, instead of hanging out with your loved ones this Christmas, how about you drive out to the boonies with me and illegally spy on my estranged ex-girlfriend and the child she had with me."
