God this even being news is why its terrible to be a woman who likes games.

I feel your frustration but the show has definitely been deep into fan service mode and shallow TV plotting for at least a season. I gave up in season 7 when people were just magically transporting themselves across a continent in an episode. I agree though, having the Army of the Dead which I always read as the

I dunno if this episode was for me because I appreciate Barry for it’s more low key moments, but I can still appreciate what it was trying to do.

Yeah the Paul/Lindsay turn around was the weirdest for me. Like her growth arc was all about her finding her independence but then her happy ending was getting back together with the same fuckin’ guy she was unhappily married to at the start of the series? I get that this show has a tight ensemble and it’s probably

Maybe I’ve spent too much time at local government meetings (I used to be a reporter for a small county newspaper) but I actually found this episode hilarious. It really captured the banality of being a fantastic monster in small town living.

Maybe its out puritanical roots, or maybe it’s the temperate climate. Personally as a person from the south I’d be more worried about exposing someone to my sweaty-ass feet than tracking dirt into their home.

I mean, most people don’t wear them inside their own homes but it is considered pretty weird to take your shoes off at another person’s house unless you’re explicitly asked to or you’re really comfortable around each other. It’s kinda like taking your pants off. It feels better but it’s not always socially appropriate.

Yeah in the books I think he already has his land reasonably settled at this point and it seems like in the show they’ve barely got themselves settled so I wonder how they’ll handle that!

Interested to see where the show goes from here because the books really start floundering at this point. These are some of the last big plot developments I can imagine making a neat TV arc. The show has been asserting a little narrative independence over the books but have still mostly been following the major book

Does Starz have any other tentpole series though? I don’t know much about Power and American Gods has had a short rocky existence.

Get better soon Drew! I have appreciated you sharing so much of yourself with your readers over the years and really enjoy the mix of juvenile rant-y humor and genuine insight you bring to the table. We’ll miss you!

Yeah quite a few of these are obviously suffering from severe barotrauma, which can happen to fish (and other animals) when they’re brought up from depth too fast. It causes their swim bladder to engorge and push their organs out of their mouths. Pretty distressing.

Yeah in the books they go out of their way to talk about the way they’ve both aged (but also emphasize that they are both unnaturally hot for their age). I kinda wondered how they were gonna handle this in the show but TBH I think I’m okay with fantasy super hot middle aged people. One of the things that always

I was actually a reporter in Cajun country and I reported pretty extensively on the nutria infestation. They tried to launch the nutria-cuisine craze there and even got famous chefs involved but nobody was biting. I saw it cooked at some wild game suppers that were exclusively about eating weird meats but that’s about

I thought it was an interesting idea but I agree that it’s a sad way to end Allison’s narrative, as a victim of yet another man romanticizing her as their “escape” right when she seemed to be trying to escape that fate. Also, I don’t know, after the way they’ve portrayed Ben as a pretty nice, recovering guy for most

I am thankful every day I didn’t ruin my eyebrows in the late 90s/early 2000s and I fear for all these young ladies that are tattooing/microblading on giant eyebrows now. I know how fickle eyebrow styles can be.

Yeah I blew through the books in a couple of months after hearing that this was coming out. The plot is fun but the best thing about the books is the setting and all the background info they cram in there. The footnotes!

One of the more interesting things about the books was that they literally had pages and pages of footnotes explaining the different Asian cultural references so it was like a crash course in Asian food, culture and society plunked into a light airy chicklit book. I wonder how that will translate in the movie.

Yikes, HOMO seems like one of those low-key misogynist gays. “I don’t have a problem with women, I just never spend any time with them and I think it’s weird for other gay men to spend time with them and it upsets me that boyfriend likes to spend time with them.”

My sister is an elementary school teacher and “YouTuber” is the new aspiring career most of her students have.
