It’s a tough, tough call, but I would have to go with Peter David’s run on The Incredible Hulk as having not only a huge quantity of work, but which redefined a long-established character in a way that was astonishing for newsstand comics at the time.

I’m only going to count someone not working on a creator owned title, because then the choices get to be too hard for me. Tie for me, but they’re the two runs I always come back to and read.

Claremont’s X-Men runs with Cockrum and Byrne, Gaimain’s Sandman, and the Giffen/DeMatteis Justice League are all close. But I just love the Alan Moore Swamp Thing so much.
