I know, I know, it’s been awhile. Sorry, I’ve had a bad case of the 2018s, you can probably relate.
This would appear to align with the interests of several of youse guys. It’s also free!
[Since I’m currently drawing a blank re: single authors to concentrate on, this post is just going to be a capsule view of various older works I think you might enjoy. - BI]
Not a review as such, but the Netflix Doug Kenney biopic is pretty good, and you should probably check it out if you’re able. Joel McHale is good as a young Chevy Chase, and Thomas Lennon is practically a clone of O’Donoghue.
If anyone else would like to do a “Space Fogeys” post (please someone else do a “Space Fogeys” post!), you are more than welcome to use these here images as headers. Taste the rainbow! (They’re all .png files.)
[The Introductory Post Bibble-Babble: Hi! People have been expressing an interest in getting thursdaytales up and running again, and that is definitely (hopefully) happening! Entirely separately and coincidentally, Gaudy Mouse and I (mostly Gaudy) were playing around on Twitter with the idea of a series of posts…
Also seems to cater to at least two of lightninglouie’s interests.
Been threatening to do this for years. Don’t know how well it holds together as an actual playlist, but at least it’s (some) of the songs from the actual posts. Could only find the live version of “Sledgehammer” on Spotify, though. Oh, well, at least I did it, finally.

Okay, it all started when I noticed a thread in my feed talking about weird feet. Naturally, since I am bizarrely proud of the fact I possess a genetic atavism, I felt I had to jump in:
Added a line to hopefully prevent Kinja from showing THE WHOLE FRAKKIN’ POST in preview.
Amanda Deibert is a comic book writer I’ve never read. I only saw her tweet of this because I follow people like Gail Simone and Mark Waid. But it so perfectly captures how the defenseless and the disenfranchised feel right now I had to retweet it. She thanked me personally for the retweet. I think she’s thanking…
Hat-tip to MUCouture on Twitter.
This one seemed particularly apropo, for some reason:
Some of the older hands here will remember Observation Deck regular Noise. I just found out he’s started a YouTube vlog called Spaceflight Tonight, where he discusses and tries to answer questions about, duh, spaceflight. His initial entry is short but pretty informative. Give it a try if you’re so inclined!
