Air is not recirculated on a plane. It is brought in from engine compressor bleed, sent to a cooler to reduce the temperature, and flows out of pressure control valves. 

I don’t know what her paying for two tickets has to do with the price of rice...the gentleman who was booted to the main cabin was told he be refunded the difference of the two tickets.  They could have done the same for her
