I’m sure you’re as aware of this as I am, but for anybody else who might not be aware: the folks saying that their shitty views deserve to be respected don’t actually care about tolerance. They’re just using the language of tolerance to try and defend being bigots.

It amazes me that Valve can sit on a mountain of player metrics but be unable to fix this.

Maybe they could implement a system were a dev can flag their game as short so if a player were to 100% a game it would no longer be available for refund.

Despite the article being about and featuring pictures of terrifying animatronic monstrosities, the most disturbing image in the post is photo of Mitch McConnell.

Well then, just re downloaded the game this week to see if I might like to return and was willing to pay a month to find out. I’m not willing to resub with them pulling such a crap power move though.

I loved it precisely because it made me feel like I’d been punched in the gut for 30 hours.

I think the key thing for people to get over is buying something day one. “Oh a new thing is out! YOU’RE TELLING ME I HAVE TO SPEND <amount>!!!?!?!” No. No one is saying that you have to do that. If you WANT to do that RIGHT NOW this is what it will cost. Make a choice. Spend the money or get over the FOMO.

I am using my $300 Rift from 3 years ago and it’s working great. The PC is no slouch but it’s also not nearly the best these days. GTX 1080/9700k.

Probably never, except for maybe a user-made mod. Valve designed this explicitly for VR. And you can bet that they don’t give much of a crap about the limited sales, they make so much money with Steam that any game they make is not financially important for them in any way. Their main motivation for making this game

“Forced” isn’t the best word here. The game is compatible with a wide range of VR setups, many of which are only a fraction of the Index’s cost. But those aren’t the best way to play the game, and you likely won’t be flipping off Striders or whatever.

That’s not the issue. It’s about Nintendo’s problem of not doing cloud saves right; paid service or not.

Excellent question. If only someone might patiently explain it to you in roughly 2,100 words or so.

If only...

Gaming got popular, and a subset of people who built their identity around gaming being non-popular are hostile of anything that gives it wider appeal.

Wait, you subscribe and STILL pay for the games?

And God help you if Stadia ever shuts down.

I love paying 70+ dollars (plus a monthly fee) to have the privilege of paying full price for year-old games that will—AT BEST—have mild amounts of noticeable input latency.

Bethesda: “Never mind, you’re not allowed to hold my beer anymore.”

Do not play the videos in the folder there labeled "magic".
