Milk is just confusing this season. I almost wonder if they brought her back on the condition that she play an insufferable, entitled bitch.
Chi Chi is just so likable, I never want to see her go. As for Milk, I’ll agree with her on one thing; this was not the week she should have gone, that was last week.
I’m convinced either the conspiracy is true or Bebe is predestined to win. She’s been so far under the radar, it’s like the show is trying to make us forget she’s there.
Cruel, but fair.
I totally agree with all of this, except...I liked Ru’s dress. It was tiered and weird no question, but I liked it.
Chi Chi definitely deserved to be safe this week over Milk.
Shangela has never been one of my favorite queens, but there’s something about her that I just find endearing and I find myself rooting for her. I enjoyed Ben’s lip sync a lot more, but I wasn’t mad seeing Shangela win.
Oddly, Thorgy made me think of Phi Phi after this episode. Not in behavior, but in that they just are not build for reality tv. It inevitably brings out the worst in them. Phi Phi may be destined to always end up the bitch, but for Thorgy, it’s that she just cannot get out of her head and get past her self-doubts.
I love Chi Chi, but you could just tell the moment she walked out things were not going to go well. I’m glad she’s getting another chance at least.
I’ve really enjoyed Trixie’s country music turn. She perfectly taps into that Dolly Parton-sweet-and-earnest-through-fake-tits-and-a-mountain-of-wigs essence. Plus, I always appreciate an unexpected autoharp.
I guess it makes sense when you think about it, she hasn’t been in the touring the world Rugirls scene, but I’ve always thought she was considered one of the stronger queens.
I love Chi Chi so much, but there’s no denying that was not a good performance.
The “this is what the judges are doing while the contestants deliberate” gags justify the “lip sync for your legacy” structure all on their own.
Damn it. Now I want a special long-time fan cut of the finale. I can't believe we missed Mimi hauling around India Ferrah again!
That's true, but this season seemed to have more total throw-away lipsyncs. A basic lipsync is one thing, but it seemed like every other episode a queen was giving up before she started.
Speaking of Shangela, maybe I just missed everyone, but it seemed like there weren't as many past contestants in the audience for this finale. I caught Morgan McMichaels, but otherwise I couldn't pick anyone out…
When Peppermint did her dress reveal I made an actual *GASP*! She knows what the fuck she's doing. Also, the return of Wintergreen was delightful.
The finale kind of redeemed the season for me. It was exuberant. And I think it sort of proved what a lot of people have said about this season—it was a cast of exceptionally talented queens, but weirdly flat production.
I like the comparison to Bianca Del Rio. Using shade as a force for good, or at least cutting through bullshit.
