Magnificent.

As a general observation, I much prefer the tompe l'oeil titties we've been seeing this season to the heavy breast plates that showed up in previous seasons. I think Roxxy Andrews was the only queen to consistently pull off a breast plate. Far to often they just come off looking like, you know, big awkward fake boobs.

It's definitely a thing, but I'm blanking on the specifics. I'm getting Rikki Tikki Tavi flashbacks.

I have to admit, I fucking love Max's grey wigs. It's the type of signature touch that is flexible enough that it doesn't have to truly be restrictive. Also, as this challenge showed, she's willing to wear a different color wig when it's truly called for.

I think by that standard though, neither one of them 100% nailed the song. There is a lot of fun and cheekiness in Blondie along with the punk rock coolness. I'd argue that if Trixie was too cutesy, then Pearl needed a bit of Trixie's fun and energy.

I think this was the first time I just totally disagreed with Ru's decision. It's not, "Oh, I would have chosen differently, but whatever." but like, "How is this happening?"

Remember season 2, when Tyra was hot glueing lace to herself for the wedding challenge? If Ru tells you to wear a beard, you staple that shit on if you have to. Suffer to be sickening.

Overall, the runway was killer, but it also made it really clear who was embracing the concept and who was just slapping a beard on with their usual drag. The contrast between fully-realized, stand-out looks like Trixie's and Katya's and Jasmine's painted on beard was painful. And even if it wasn't a high-concept…

Ordinarily, I wouldn't comment on something like this on the internet without checking my facts a bit first, but given that men in women's parts was just how theater was done back in the day, I can't imagine Shakespeare or any other writer of the time needing a stage direction for that.

Max has become my personal favorite through the power of a sweetheart attitude and an infinite supply of grey wigs.

You're not totally alone! I'm also in the "I don't hate Santino Rice" camp. He and Michelle were like the little devil and angel on Ru's shoulders, only one had big hair and one had none.

That's interesting—I wondered why some of the outfits were so off-theme.

"Your tone seems very pointed right now." was GLORIOUS.

There really is a big difference between the queens who are bitchy because it's part of the performance, and those who just seem to be lashing out.

She really is a delightful little glamour toad!

Yes, I would be really surprised if Violet doesn't go far. I don't love her personality, but her looks are amazing, and there's definitely something about her that stands out.

I love it when Moby just shows up.

Ha. The first queen I thought of when they announced the challenge was actually Roxxy Andrews, Queen of the Tear-away!

I love, love, love Max's look, but completely agree her success or failure is going to depend on how well she is able to moderate her "character."

Alaska as Anna Wintour is joy.
