Because engaging in a civil debate instead of slinging explatives in all caps is so harmful, right? I respect the hell out of him for keeping his composure and covering many issues. I get what he’s attempting and it deserves more respect than this.

Clearly, she should go fuck herslef, but as Trevor noted, she won. Her brand of hatred and anti-intellectual nonsense won. We can ignore it, or we can engage it. I think Trevor did a decent job of that in this interview.
I think this attitude is an extremely large part of how the alt right gained so much traction. What happened to proper debate and discourse? If we, as liberals, are so afraid of her voice being heard, and are willing to silence controversial topics then are we really striving for a fair and balanced society? or one…
Wow, no. Have we learned nothing from this last election? Silencing racists and mean-spirited bigots like Lahren only feeds into their martyr complexes. I’m reminded of how many conservative speakers have been able to play the victim card after being stopped from speaking on college campuses.
He looks like a Square Enix character’s lawyer dad.
Kara, whether I like your post or not, it’s not wise to drop a post like this and then not engage further.
With head firmly placed in hands, while I wish there were a better climate for Trevor Noah to come into his own. I just can’t believe how he could hold his grace and temper as well as he did with this particular specimen of hyper-partisanship. Given time, he’s becoming a worthy successor to Jon Stewart. His memoir was…
Wait, wait, wait. The Daily Show has had figures from both sides of the table. She’s a crazy person, yes, but why are we upset by her appearing on a talk show that discusses politics from all “walks”.
I’m serious! The point of good discourse is to get people to see the world differently and to open their minds. That may sound corny, but that really is the point. Trevor Noah has a hell of a lot more patience than I do.
This is good. This is reasonable and lively debate- may be the only way to ever reach people like her. Yelling at her and screaming “YOU BITCH YOU BITCH YOURE A RACIST FUCKWAD” will never make someone like Tami Tahren question how she views the world or change her opinions.
Trevor Noah needs to do this more often.
Hearing about stupid celebrity diets (that you know are lies anyway) makes my stomach lining bleed. I’m thinking of suing.
And a Celsius one for fun too. Things you care about as a human all bunched up at the bottom? negative numbers? tons of empty space near the top? gross!
Shit, Fazoli’s still exists! It’s like where you go when Olive Garden is TOO GOOD for you.
It’s the best scale for describing weather, which is what 99% of the population needs it for most. Cooking is the other semi-big use and I don’t think any scale is much better than another there.
I’m at UT and drive home to Fort Worth all the time. This is the most accurate statement about Waco ever.
Buc-ees is amazing. It’s like walmart opened a truckstop.
Buc-ees bathrooms are beautiful.
No, Buc-ees is an American treasure. Texas has two things that I wish were in nationwide distribution: Buc-ees, and Alamo Drafthouse. They just put an Alamo in Brooklyn, so I’ve got that going for me, but I need the other for my commutes into NJ
Whenever my husband and I get in the car to drive from Austin to Dallas, one of us always says, “So... Buc-ees on the way there and Czech Stop on the way back, right?”
