It’s not the state government’s job to make sure people have car insurance. It’s up to each person to make their own decisions about how to spend their money and if someone (like younger Americans) decides they’d rather spend their money elsewhere they accept the risk that goes along with that.

You’re right, but we need a better way to argue that point. Governments have at times proven to be corrupt or act against the best interests of the public. Or maybe I’m allowing the perfect to be the enemy of the good.
