How was he trespassing if he was a paying customer who was drawn at random to be kidnapped off a flight?
He paid for that flight and had patients to see the next morning. They absolutely had no right to remove him from the flight.
Thank you Judge Gorsuch for weighing in on this.
“Nothing bad will happen to me because I follow the rules.”

There’s a difference between setting a dress code for employees and their family members flying free and violently removing a paying customer. There was a price at which two more passengers would have volunteered to get off the plane. The correct thing to do would be to keep raising the incentive until they found…
Sadly, some of them are.
Given that they never upped their offer past 800$ before calling in the goon squad, I’d demand whatever their settlement offer be doubled before backing off taking it to court
That is going to really fuck them over.
Yeahh, they should have been for ed to find another crew, another method of transportation for this crew, or continued to negotiate with passengers until enough were willing to modify the contract they agreed to, ie their ticket.
That man is a dream plaintiff. I can’t wait to see how much United loses.
Hmm maybe. All I know is, they Better Call Saul!
Right, but if you offer enough money someone on that plane will take it. They usually start at like $200. Will not do for $200. Or $400. Or $800. Would do for four digits almost always.
Being physically removed is not standard, though
I’m pretty sure if you get down into the fine print they can just throw you out of the window if need be
My comment was mostly directed towards folks who were over here staunchly defending United re: the leggings, simply because it was standard procedure printed on a piece of paper somewhere
I have a worse story! It was not even in an Uber! I took a taxi home (in NYC), and noticed the driver was erratic. I was just about to say: I think I’m going to get out here, when he stepped on the gas, hit a parked car, knocked off the mirror and ran a red light. I started to yell that he had to stop, and thats when…
You know... I’ve never had that problem with a traditional cab.
I find that any community engagement unit is improved by using balaclavas. Our local library’s community book bus, for example, saw great results when they gave their staff face masks and tactical gear. In a pinch I’ve found the kids respond to librarians wearing Oakleys and black bandanas tied around their faces,…
