The 904 is still the most beautiful Porsche ever IMO.

To me it does not look as noticeable on the 229 as on the earlier gliders and low-speed aircraft, though there is definitely more balance area than on any of the Northrop’s.
Falcon 9 is still a very reliable rocket. Most orbital rocket failures happen in the first dozen flights. Let’s compare other rocket’s first nineteen flights:
Yeah, the Northrop designs didn’t have enough area behind the center of gravity for safe stall behavior. Horten brothers designs always had the cg further forward with more wing area behind it, which kept them from tumbling when the nose pitched down during stall.
I don’t know about you, but I would download the shit out of a car.
I am sick and tired of these motherfucking cats on my motherfucking plane!
Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

I’ll just leave this here...
It’s 106 miles to Chicago, you’ve got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, a Stanley Cup, it’s dark, and you’re wearing sunglasses.
A mega-plane could work if passengers and their luggage could travel in drone-pods that could be dropped to auto-land over multiple airports. Load up 2000 people in L.A., and do drops over Vegas, Denver, and Chicago en route to NYC. Less time spent on climbing, descents, and landings, and you’d only need mega capable…
thank you for clarifying that because I’ll occasionally see “Northrup” written and wondered about the misspelling.
I prefer the original Northrop logo, love that big wing. Also, wasn’t the B-49 program killed off more at the insistence of the Air Force brass than due to a supposed lack of control during flight? I doubt there would have been any serious production of flying wings had they been impossible to fly. See the image of…
Great article, but it’s spelled “Northrop” not “Northrup.”
You’ll be wearing gloves anyway.
Cadillacs confirmed as not interesting.
No longer grounded to the ground
That's an awesome image. I was searching for an old F-14 marketing photo that I had years ago (many, many years) that compared the F-4's turning circle with the F-14's. Wish I still had that stuff! Btw, I didn't mean to bash the F-4- I think it was an awesome machine in it's day, and a very capable role player after…
