Actually I think it was over 10 million that watched. Part is funded by Valve and some by the fans buying in game items
Considering this is the 7th consecutive year the tournament has been held, is backed by one of the largest gaming companies, and no one has ever mentioned valve not paying them on the past I’m going to go with yes they will be paid
Yeah, Valve is definitely going to stiff them...
One of the Chinese gamers said they practice and watch film of their games 12 hours a day. You can become a professional gamer too if you’re willing to put in that kind of time and effort.
People from all over the country came to this. Unless you can prove he drove all the way from Ohio with the express mindset of committing murder you’re going to have a hard time proving premeditation
No, I don’t think a split second decision is premeditated. That’s pretty much the opposite of premeditation
Did you miss the part where people were chanting “Jews will not replace us”?
As far as I know he’s never been charged relating to any of this. The reason they haven’t used it is it’s either not good evidence or they don’t think it’s enough to secure a conviction. If they tried and failed because of weak/not enough evidence that would be bad
There’s a reason to not use the old evidence
I’m not positive on what this specific person had to do w/r/t registering as a sex offender, but if you do some research more broadly I think you’ll find that people convicted of things like public urination or having sex with a minor while they themselves are also a minor do have restrictions on where they can live
I was talking about more than this specific case, but if he was found guilty and served his sentence why shouldn’t be be allowed to be employed in something be excels at?
You seem to be unaware of the consequences of having a sexual assault/rape conviction on your record and being on the sex offender list has for employment opportunities and even the ability to secure housing.
And again. Why would you think these places would be more likely to hire someone with a rape conviction?
No one is saying that. Do you think all violent crime should be punished with a life sentence? What privileges should they be allowed or denied if they are found guilty and then serve their sentence?
So he should have been given the sentence of life without parole? Is that what you’re saying?
So you think a slaughterhouse or sanitation department is more likely to hire someone with a rape conviction? Why is that? Do you think the people that work those jobs are of a lower class or moral character than those who work office jobs?
The criminal justice system is certainly fucked and he probably didn’t receive a long enough sentence, but I don’t think people realize what happens to people who are convicted and serve sentences for sex crimes (even things like public urination). If he’s on the sex offender roles it’s going to be pretty much…
We have no laws against it, I don’t think he’s got a scholarship to be on the team, and this isn’t a case where charges weren’t brought or dropped so I’m fine with it. Would anyone care if he was on the debate team or in the anime club? Why is football materially different?
So you’re for criminal justice reform and second chances for people who serve their time until actually confronted with a specific situation?
