There is a trend in my area (Western Philly burbs) of these “town centers” which are really just outdoor walking malls. So now I just get rained on going from store A to store B. They seem to be called “Main Street @ _____” to mimic being at a downtown shopping district even though they are usually outside of town.

It depends on the country. The Dutch are big online shoppers, and this has caused whole chains to fall over in the last decade, leaving shopping streets strangely empty. But if we go to Belgium, people still mostly shop in stores and none of this appears to have happened. It is very strange.

I feel like I’m the only one that hates this. Yes, I like being able to shop online for most things. But with the way I’m shaped and how sizing is NOT standard, I have to try on clothes. I don’t want to order, wait, try on, return, etc. all of the times. Being able to go to an actual store and try things on is GOLD

I work in the retail apparel supply chain, and things are just awful right now. While it may be true that top-tier retail is still thriving somewhat, due to the growing wealth of the top 10%, income inequality is killing the industry for the other 90%. But there are three other factors at play:

There are a couple things pushing the retail apocalypse (beside the internet)

Well, it’s good to know that the Russian Foreign Minister is making domestic intelligence and law enforcement policy now /s:

It is also worth noting that Lavrov is named in the Russian dossier the FBI is (was?) investigating, as someone who was actively involved :) Page 28.

Yeah, that was a big “We run this shit” move. Any pol who rolls over and ignores this need to be run out of the country. Along with anyone who still supports Trump and claims to be a “patriot.”

I know in my heart that when the heat gets to be too much, he’ll pardon himself and resign but still, I like to fantasize about a massive treason trial, something on the order of The Nuremberg Trials, where Trump and his girlfriend’s husband Jared, are marched out in chains to face a very long trial, at the end of

If the Russians feel comfortable enough to come here and troll over this stuff, it’s over.

Whatever happened to the rambling freaks of nature who swore up and down on these very boards that they would never, *ever* pull the lever for Hillary because their vote was precious and they just couldn’t bear to give it over to corporatist warmonger (or something)?

I never thought I’d live in a country that is the laughingstock of the entire planet, but here we are.

This could very well be the end of the Russia probes. So...you know, don’t panic. But panic.

This fucking dictator needs to be removed from office one way or another.

Whatever, Trump. No love lost with Comey out, but everyone needs to get real. Comey wasn’t fired because of refusing to charge Clinton with mishandling classified information. Comey is being fired because as head of the FBI, he is too willing to investigate the friends and family of Trump for their criminal actions.

🤔

Unbelievable. I GUARANTEE you Trump will nominate someone who swears to close the investigation on ties with Russia.

Firing Comey... well... the thing is the stuff he should have been fired over happened months and months ago.

This is the end of the Russia investigation. Comey, who despite his terrible judgment on Clinton, seemed intent on pursuing that. Trump was waiting for an excuse, and Comey foolishly provided it. Moron.
