I love how she does it so calmly, almost with pity, like an adult trying to get a child with ADHD to re-focus

There are no PC people and non-PC people. The fight is over what should be considered PC.

Your first point is well taken. However, because the NFL has branded itself to be seen as almost an extension of the US Military through its faux patriotism, I still believe it took tremendous courage for Kaepernick to center his protest around a (faux) patriotic display.

+1 red light (switched to “on”)

I think if you look at things in a vacuum you are correct. However, what Kaepernick did was do a peaceful protest about race during the national anthem in the U.S.’s largest sport that purposefully wraps itself in the flag to protect itself from any sort of criticism and sports a ravenous fan base that wildly attacks

It’s the exact opposite of that. Inasmuch as there’s a debate to be had, let’s have the debate. What isn’t useful is sidestepping the actual issue at hand to discuss the act of protest instead of the substance of the protest. That is what 99% of the discussion about Kaepernick has been:

“Curt Schilling Hot Take Machine” is what I call my son’s diaper when he’s had too much yogurt.

I can’t help but think that Trent Dilfer might be distracting the NFL Countdown team with his comments right now.

Willing to bet this was a sentiment shared by all his offensive coordinators over the years.

All I hear and see are arguments. And honestly, most of the shit I see on FB for example is people disagreeing with Kap, telling him to shut up, and telling everyone who agrees with him that we are all pieces of shit. So.....

It’s actually not just “innocent black people.” That makes the issue about race. The issues are police and state sanctioned abuse of power. The killing of blacks or people of color is just a part of the issue. This discussion needs to be focused on the core issues and not just BLM or Colin’s protest or any talking

That’s not what is happening here. Someone made a terrible argument and it is being critiqued as such. That’s pretty much it.

“Luke Warmtake” would be a great name for a backup quarterback.

Innocent black people being killed by the police is state-sanctioned murder. Children being kept as slaves is a crime perpetrated not by unsanctioned criminals. Literally zero people would have gotten upset had Dilfer decided to protest children being kept as slaves. This is so stupid.

This is truly the worst kind of child slavery. Being forced to use Kinja...

Thank you for your sacrifices, Mr. Dilfer.

Are the “politically correct police”the ones that shoot you? Or do they just make fun of you on Twitter? I keep getting this mixed up.

Too little too late, eh Tony Banks?

I wasn’t sure where I stood on this while Kaepernick issue, but now I’m glad it happened because it is going to force us to confront an ugly fact that no one wants to acknowledge and many young people don’t believe is even possible:

Exactly this. Well said. This whole “shut up and put the team first” is nonsense, as evidenced by the number of players who walked over to Kaepernick after the anthem and hugged him. They said on the broadcast that it has, in fact, brought the team closer together.

Hell, while Martellus Bennett and Devin McCordy were
