You know suby’s are the same way. Longitudinal. In the ‘90's you could get them FWD or AWD. Most 4 speed automatic suby’s are really mainly FWD with an electric clutch to send some power to the back. The Suby 5 speed automatics were closer to true AWD (like the manual STI’s and WRX)
