His advice about evolving is off too, unless I’m misreading it.

Nah, you got it :) I think people mean rarer stuff. For example I’ve caught enough Oddish that I could evolve it to Gloom, but if I wait until I have the ungodly amount needed to evolve it straight up to Vileplume, I can do both during one Lucky Egg and double my xp.

I got screwed out of an Arbok on my run today from it freezing. This game could be the best thing ever if they fixed the server problem and added the ability to battle friends and strangers nearby. It’s mindlessly addicting for no obvious reason. If I see there is one nearby that I haven’t caught yet, I MUST HAVE IT.
