Burners Baby Burners: Discussion Inferno

Gotta disagree. I’m a California native but the current plate is incredibly boring and that script is out of place. It doesn’t speak to the state’s identity whatsoever, it’s less interesting than any prior basic design, it’s almost like they made it boring so drivers would dump a few extra bucks into a special

New Mexico plates are generally up there at the top of my list, they look nice, they speak to the state’s identity, and they’re never boring; you might say they’re “enchanting”.

Their own farts.

But who wouldn’t want to be trapped in a tiny tube under the Sepulveda pass for hours, wondering when the next quake would hit, trying to tamp that fear down with a pretense of smugness about not being trapped 50 feet up on the 405 like the commoners?

I wish I could give it love, it was close, but I gave it the ND seal of disapproval because of the red flags of this car being the current owner’s money pit. 18k miles since a ton of repairs, a list probably as costly as the ask itself, and all of a sudden the owner’s just gotta say bye? I don’t doubt this car will

You’re never going to get paid by the word that way!

My grampa lived through two world wars, the development and deployment of the atomic bomb, sonar, radar, the submachine gun, the invention of the television, sound-synced movies, women’s right to vote, the computer, the home computer, insulin, the internet, the cellphone, the smartphone, the “laser”, the hair dryer,

I’ve seen this very car on the road before, my gal and I discussed the personalized plate. I have no insight from that, aside from the tint and lowering looking douchey in person.

The Sonata’s only real drawback is they lowered the rear roofline from the previous generation, which will make installing baby seats a head-smasher.

This is in my area enough to know these are a dime a dozen around here, and they change hands regularly until the final buyer puts in so little effort that they either crap out in the middle of the road or lose control and hit someone. This one’s on its last legs, so the price is on the high side of the new insanity,

Base models for the win!

Aww, dang it Tracy, that got me right in my cold, dead heart. Good deep dive, and it makes me immensely sad that COVID ripped him away, but it at least helps take the sting away knowing how much love there was involved with him and this group.

Eheheheh, exactly

They are objectively awful when compared to anything else made this century. I can’t think of anything worse.

The Lexus ES330 would fight that claim. If you’re drinking something over 3" tall or using a water bottle that’s under 1.5l, you can be guaranteed to spill just shifting into drive. The weak little folding arms and platform hold virtually nothing, the little spring tongue at the back in no way assists, it’s entirely

Thanks for tackling that badge centering, my brain would not let that go.

“Your honor, if it pleases the court, in my defense I’d like to present the counter-argument of ‘filthy thieving bastard v. fuck that guy’.”

While I’ve certainly never enjoyed preparing a steak of this caliber, my experience with fatty steaks this thin on the cast iron at high is it’s really easy to overshoot, even on the rest a marbled steak has gone from rare to well in that 5 minute rest. Normally I’d say a low and slow oven roast until it reaches 110f,
