Clearly, you have no idea how many domestic violence cases are dismissed when someone fails to show up to testify, in plenty of families where nobody has enough money to bribe anyone.
Yes, the most likely explanation is that "girls" don't want to handle the most coveted position in film, one so universally desired that "what I really want to do is direct" is a Hollywood punchline. We should also explore whether the reason women make less than men is because they don't like money.
Ignoring all the issues around Gone Girl (the movie and the book), I find it extremely bothersome that whether she's going to write a book depends on whether people agree to star in the movie based on the as-yet unwritten book. I'm perfectly happy for people who've written books to turn them into movies afterwards.…
I didn't say that. But being clueless afterwards is not necessarily the same thing as nonconsent.
I hope to god someone responds with a well-photoshopped "Face/Off" poster.
I think a mix of things affected the price and its desirability. A hundred years ago, live lobster was basically unavailable anywhere not within 100 miles of the New England coast. Once refrigerators and jets became common, it was easier to ship them all over; then you could put whole, fresh lobster on the menu at a…
In Colonial Massachusetts, they fed lobster to the indentured servants. "In one Massachusetts town, a group of indentured servants became so upset at their lobster-heavy diet that they took their masters to court and won a judgment protecting them from having to eat it more than three times a week." http://www.motherjo…
No, because that's not how intoxication and consent work. Just being drunk is not necessarily being unable to consent. So, no, two drunk people having sex are not necessarily unable to consent.
It's explained in the article cited to: "Batey's defense attorney is gearing up to argue that Batey was too drunk to form the intent to commit some of the alleged crimes."
This case seems remarkably hard to judge through the media. Either the hospital is right and she's being controlled or intimidated by her mother, or her mother is right and she's making a free and probably-not-wise decision to reject chemo. Of course, each side is going to slant the story to favor their side.
I, for one, welcome our female overlords.
I'm glad you suggested offering separate child care; I think a lot of parents (especially if they have to travel) would be frustrated by needing to find a babysitter for a weekend of wedding festivities. But renting a conference room, corralling a couple of teenagers to babysit a dozen or so kids for four hours, and…
Seriously? Nobody out there picks Slim Pickens?
I had the same reaction. I guess the author just wanted the parents to do a mea culpa first? Either way, it seems like the parents' actions, if not their mindset, were right.
It's not inside the museum , since the museum is closed until Dec. 2015.
Very confused how the possibility of criminal trespass charges makes peaceful civil disobedience less viable today than in the days of the Selma Bridge and Kent State, but sure.
"cake eating ass" is a phrase crying out for a hyphen
The Chappelle Show was such a font of wonderful, inventive insults. "Player Hater's Ball" remains a great sketch to mine for good insults.
"Fuck [Ann Coulter's] couch" will probably be the best thing I hear all day.
