Have hope, it’s not new, nor necessarily worse than before, but it keeps needing to be fought on new (and sometimes old) fronts.
That assumes that he’s progressed beyond, and assimilated more than “a series of tubes”, and isn’t thinking of these tech companies along the lines of historical moves of taking a manufacturing (tech) company and invoking patriotic/nationalistic pride to have them make weapons of war...
Maybe an analogy, which are always suspect, but sometimes serve to point out a mistake in frame of reference... “I wish <my big grocery store chain> supported <Kinder eggs / kimchi / Asian pears / Turkish delight> by carrying them in their stores, so I don’t have to go elsewhere to find them...”
