Related, but less pointed, NH doesn’t have an income tax on personal income, only investment income (arguably rightfully so). It also has no sales tax. It instead has fairly high(?) property taxes to pay for things.
Normalization of the bad by showing everyone the terrible... repeat and recycle until the deplorable is bad, and the abominable is only terrible, and what was terrible is now “just fine, thanks”.

It’s not just for them anymore... quite a few elementary schools in the area do this, but generally in addition to the regular night, i.e. it gets held on a preceding weekend late afternoon, to check off having a school community event.
They cost money, that’s pretty much it.

Mostly because of the phrasing - it didn’t look like I was the only one that got that impression, though it does look like I was the only one that got a reply thread. Calling out left-wing/right-wing is irrelevant, it’s the fact that they’re conspiracy theory believers that’s important.
