In addition to turning off the bodycam and then claiming that it didn’t work or that they forgot to turn it on, police appear to be trained to shout “Drop the gun!” repeatedly, regardless of whether the suspect has a gun.

In all likelihood, they were not listening to her, no. I wouldn’t be surprised if they barely heard her. Their collective adrenaline levels were likely so high that it was all they could do to say what they were saying.

I don’t think I can watch another one of these videos. I will just have to read descriptions. It’s too much.

That’s what I don’t get. Let’s assume for one moment he did have a gun (I don’t believe he did, but I wasn’t there). The man is in his car and not an immediate danger, you have someone who obviously knows him on scene, why would you not have one officer go over and speak with her to see if she knows a way to get him…

Right. It’s the old “the only moral abortion is my abortion” line of thinking. “It doesn’t matter until it affects me.” They really do think this way. I too would be fascinated to know if it’s a learned philosophy or a personality disorder.
