“In this show, people get a little embarrassed, and then very angry”. — Tim Robinson, in a promo about season 1.

Haha totally forgot about that. But for meta-contextual humor, you really can’t top John Noble, who voiced Mallus, appearing as himself while filming Return of the King.

I’d watch a movie called Don’t Worry Alice Darling, in which Florence Pugh and Anna Kendrick gaslight each other for two hours.

Not knowing anything about the books, I did feel the same way too. But seeing Ritchson in the role and knowing he is what the author and fans expected, I get it now. The character is totally different with Ritchson in the role as he’s physically imposing. Cruise’s version, while entertaining, really just comes off as

with elegant Harvard pal Chloe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers),

That’s my problem. My expectations are sky high for this. I’m afraid I’ll be really disappointed is its just ‘good’ and not ‘great’.

That cast is fantastic, and the source material is as well. I’m trying not to let my expectations get out of hand...

Please don’t be disappointing. Please don’t be disappointing. Please....

The direction this episode was stunning! That bar fight was SO FUN, stylized and dance-like. My favorite part was all the stuff going on in the background, especially the old guy at the bar nonchalantly brushing the broken glass off his sleeve.

Hulk puts on the gauntlet and un-snaptures the snap. Then Velma Hawkeye’s wife calls him on his cell phone and she shows up on his caller ID.

If there’s one real gripe I have about this movie, it’s with how they misused Captain Marvel.  They’ve essentially turned her into a flying Deus Ex Machina that’s nearly invincible when she’s needed to further the plot, but reduced to semi-mortal because they also need to make sure she doesn’t turn into a Mary Sue.

but Gamora isn’t back. Presumably she returns to her own time because in Quill’s ship at the end the display still said “Gamora: Missing” and “Searching” below it.

Except for the 2012 one, where Loki presumably still has the Cosmic Cube.

So it seems pretty clear that Thor Lebowski is going to be a huge Halloween costume this year, right?

It’d be so much easier to explain if they just snapped that past five years out of existence.

Yes, that’s what happened. Though going by the FFH trailer, every student with a speaking part in Homecoming was conveniently snapped.

So everyone brought back is 5 years younger than the Leftovers? Did half of Peter Parker’s high school class already or nearly finish college, and he’s still a junior?

I do not get how some folks seem to think the argument was pretty even. The only thing Ava said that gave me pause was ‘you were sending them to hell so what gives’, which yeah, true, fair enough, but it seems like sentience and malevolence aren’t the same thing, and Ava doesn’t seem to care.

I really want this season to end with Mona learning that Rory wrote her favorite book and just geeking the fuck out.

Huh. Yeah, I was wondering what the non-comedian reaction to “The Comedian” would be. Can I say, as a stand-up comedian, that it was actually kind of great, but can probably only really be appreciated by other stand-up comics? I don’t wanna sound patronizing, but there actually are a lot of layers in there, but I
