I’m starting to wonder if the press is the point?  HBOMax’s rollout was so comically bad and the subscriber count is so low, maybe they just want to keep their name out to make people know they exist? Not even to get them to subscribe FOR this dumb movie, just to get them to realize HBOMax is a thing.

Trump's reelection campaign.

Quibi

Yes, I think it was called Justice League (2017) and it had a budget of 300 million.

Good god, comic books are fucking stupid.

It’s not his fault, they should have paid him. It would have made more with him in it. That original script sounded epic.

This is Robert Duvall’s fault.

Yeah (or at least the producers fault for not giving Duvall everything he wanted.) The original plot of the film involved Tom Hagen revolting against Michael and it honestly sounds better than anything that ended up in the movie so, you’re right. Duvall might not have been able to save it

I actually think it’s kinda perfect Constanza never won an award.

And he won’t shut up about Vietnam!

I’m pointing out hypocrisy. I can be willing to vote for Biden, which I am going to do without hesitation, want Biden to win, which I do, desperately, AND be disappointed at the hypocrisy of certain liberals who are treating Reade’s allegations in a way they would not, and did not, treat allegations made by Blasey

Boy, is it fun to see ostensible liberals treat the accusation against Joe Biden in the exact same way that conservatives treated the accusation against Brett Kavanaugh.  Turns out, when conservatives accused liberals of not really caring about women, but just using the accusation to try to drag down Kavanaugh, they

I go back and forth about whether the Prequels or Sequels are worse. They’re each unwatchably bad in their own special way. Episodes VII-IX look better and I think their CGI will stand the test of time better than that of I-III, but OTOH, at least the prequels were made by someone who cared about the story and

Interpreting The Last Jedi as saying “nothing matters” is also really disheartening, even though I’ve seen that stated so often it’s practically cannon. The Last Jedi is not nihilistic by any means. It never claimed nothing matters. It suggests that dogma, tribalism and gatekeeping don’t matter. And that maybe what’s

I hold the opinion that NONE of the 3 new movies mean anything, they are just Disney financed fan fiction :)

Yeah, i mean, TLJ doubled down SO HARD on returning to the scrappy rebels vs. oppressive empire. Doing something new would have meant actually creating a different sort of story to tell, not telling the same story but with self-aware comments about how they’re repeating themselves.

Thank you! The real reason I hated The Last Jedi is that it ultimately didn’t take the overarching story in any real direction. For everyone’s talk of how much it changed things, the state of our main characters was largely unchanged by the end of the movie. Kylo Ren was bad, Rey had no teacher, Finn had a reason to

Yeah, my issue with TLJ all along is that it has some really terrific moments—including one, the throne room scene, that’s among the very best in the franchise—but they never cohered into a fascinating movie, and the whole thing ended up being just an interesting mess.

Well, the whole decision to basically repeat the first trilogy undercuts it, badly. Yay, the good guys won...except that they have to do it all again 25 years later so their victory meant jackshit.  And obviously having Palpatine be not really dead makes the best part of “Return of the Jedi” completely meaningless.

Doesn’t deliver what you want, often responsible for you getting bad news, doesn’t work on Sunday. It checks out.
