What’s odd is that a 25 year old woman died from an illness she obtained at a concentration camp in the first place. She was able to make the journey all the way from El Salvador so she must have been in at least somewhat good health. 

12 months in jail, $2k fine, and 700 hours of community service. I don’t believe she served all 12 months.

Nothing good will come of setting up a circular firing squad in front of a bunch of needy folks with nothing but complaints. This will be a blamefest with no winners. Biden should skip it and do some charity work instead.

These days most people think of socialism as whatever satisfies their societal ideal and believe that it will be accomplished by simply showing up to vote, but it will be much harder than that. Getting from here to something more resembling the Nordic system will require a lot of work, but that work has to be done.

Came to say this. People like to say that Biden has a molestation problem. What they fail to mention is that it pales in comparison to Trump’s acute version of the same problem.

Only because the Germans pushed toward Moscow first. Had they not done that we Americans would have taken them out completely.

When Trump loses in 2020 we will end this and push back against the concept of citizenship more generally. We are more connected now than at any point in history, ancient designations and restrictions should no longer apply.

Decommodification is impossible as everything with a high level of aggregate demand becomes commoditized. Think of social media ‘influencers,’ even that nonsense has become commoditized. Their individual personas are replaceable and don’t matter at all. They are their userbase and nothing more. Identityless, soulless…

If it takes that level of detail to understand something, it’s self-defeating and not worth it. I’ll take classical liberalism any day over some corporate chart.

We’re at a crossroads. Either this finally wakes folks up or we start the long journey to 1946 America where we have started and just lost WWIII. Except our 1946 occurs around 2029.

I wouldn’t call what the tech corporations are doing ‘censoring.’ That’s a four-letter buzzword. They’re just protecting people and keeping them safe. Dangerous words and ideas help no one and harm lots. It’s their duty to sweep that up.

Served on two juries. The first was a kidnapping situation where the guy was clearly guilty. The other was a petty theft situation where there were hunger and poverty issues at play. 

And hardly anyone notices... Best case scenario here would be an unnecessarily extreme sentencing to wake people up. Then whoever replaces Trump can pardon him and secure 2024 reelection in the process.

Biden, though given the number of electoral votes in TX, maybe Beto. Lot of time between now and the election.
