It really is a great movie.

It wasn’t really a “meeting.” He just got to sit in a special section during the Pope’s weekly general audience, and shake his hand. He got the VIP tix by special request of Dolan, so I feel like he’s as much to blame as anyone for that creepy photo op.

It seems you have so internalized the idea of the inviolability of corporate rights that you’re ready to go all in on ideas that don’t actually make sense to reasonable people.

He also waited until 2015 to start allocating disaster relief funds to repair the Official Gubernatorial Beach House.

Maybe it’s more of a Republican thing? (see: Betsy McCaughey of NY)

Their argument that “activating the captions would be unfair to the other audience members” suggests that we’re talking about open captions here, not captioning on the personal devices. I’m sure a multiplex like this is screening from DCPs, not on reels of film, so turning on the captions would be pretty easy,

Yeah, well...the economy’s gonna change all right, Helen. Have fun with that!

Are you the only woman he’s ever dated in the wintertime??

Yeah, I def wash my legs before I shave them, because if i’m going to apply a razor to something, I want it to be freshly cleaned. But otherwise if I washed every day, the skin on my legs would be sooo dry.

I hear you saying nice things, Leonardo, but I mean—MERYL STREEP played your mother once. How does she not win?

I literally don’t know if that fact would even occur to her. Her access to information is probably controlled to the extent that she doesn’t understand the concept of “book deals” or “women getting to keep the money they earn themselves.”

Yeah, it was bad. It lost me after about 15 minutes. But then I switched over to Jen Kirkman’s special, so it was not a lost evening.

But doesn’t he have a day job? The air ambulance thing? Or is that just pretend?

I think the takeaway there is that, in these last days of her life, as she looks back at what brought her happiness, those flaws have kind of fallen away for her. She probably doesn’t care to make room for those things in her mind anymore.

Oh, yeah yeah yeah—she wasn’t on in a budding star capacity. She was about a decade into superfame by that point.

Hey, nice work, Ohio! They used to have like 4 of the top 10 cities. Way to get those numbers down!

Yeah, this is a woman who died of pneumonia, which she likely got while in the hospital the first time around, where she was sent for treatment of untreated wounds, which were caused by bedbugs. The bedbugs are like Kevin Bacon in this chain. It’s a horrible, tragic, heartbreaking story, but the theme of this story is

This happened to me around 2010 when the bed bug news stories really hit their peak. We didn’t actually HAVE bedbugs (though believe me that I called in the dog to check it out), but I broke out in itchy welts just from worrying about it.

I have not actually seen this movie, but I’m told he was in HACKSAW RIDGE.

Really, even dead Reagan is preferable drinking company to Scott Walker, I would think.
