You don’t need a muffler in order to tune an exhaust. Resonator pipes, header setup...etc work fine sometimes. Take the muffler off any other small four banger and it’s not going to sound like an Abarth.

When the pads wear to the point that the wire waers through and the circuit is broken, you get a brake pad warning. It would be easy to add this to tires and a sensor in the TPMS.
