For those into true Jalop-ness the road that leads up to the Pagoda is also the road used for the Duryea Hill Climb (do they even hold it anymore?). Look up the name Duryea for some interesting early automotive history.

My former coworker, who also drove a brand new Jeep Wrangler with a 4k lift kit and $350+/each Toyo Open Country tires. She complained she couldn’t afford to move out of her parents due to her nearly $600 monthly car payment.

I checked and, yeah, Texas Southern general parking permits are $250 or more, and I can totally sympathize with a broke college kid not wanting to pay that.

Talk about a conflicted NP, especially if the seller is willing to go down a bit. There is nothing about this car that I like or enjoy, but it’s in decent shape, low miles for it’s age, and is a reasonable price.

Rectangular headlights didn’t exist before 1975 in the US, so in 1979 it was still pretty fresh.  It was an easy way to “modernize” the look of a car.
