I mean, it was not a great episode, but I wouldn’t say it was that much worse than most of them this season. Most of the episodes this season I would rate as a B- or C, to be honest. And Baldwin has to go, for the sheer hypocrisy alone, and also because of his tired impression where he stares directly at the camera

I’m pretty sure they do. Look at Colbert’s live show when Trump won. He was genuinely upset and the humor had literally drained from the show. It was one of the most ‘real’ things on TV in a while. Comedians have taken that anger and disappointment and channeled it into biting humor and points that are meant to make

Well, Tommy Wiseau was TECHNICALLY in this interview. I guess technically is the best kind of correct.

I was able to catch the early premiere for this on Wednesday. The animation is FANTASTIC... there were actually some characters (in the land of the living) that were approaching the uncanny valley with their facial expressions and movements. Not sure how I feel about that and I wonder if that will be an issue with

Computer, end program! End program!

I just finished watching this episode! It’s fantastic the way Atamanuik deftly weaves a fine impression line between Trump being comedic, childish, ignorant, pitiful, and terrifying. This show really is the little off-brand cable show that did things way better than the “big” guys. Again, I wish AVClub had been

The additional joke in this line was that he ended the phone call with “bye, Melania.”

I would love to see you guys starting to review this again. It deserves it, and it’s only once a week. I guess there are other factors that determine what shows get the treatment and what shows don’t.

I hate to say it, but there’s far too much politicizing in these reviews and I wish you’d stick more to the show. And I’m no Trump fan - I love the President Show and Colbert’s daily takedowns of the current administration. I just find SNL reviews in particular lay it on way too thick when it comes to all the asides

This was a great episode. The way it was structured, I audibly yelled out HE DID IT! when they showed the ONE news segment that the whole scheme managed to get. It was such a fun ride to get to that point, the fact there was just a little bit of payoff was inconsequential.

Hey, AVClub.

Even if Atamanuik coasts a bit, the writing on TPS is much smarter. SNL’s Baldwin is just there to get cheap laughs when he does silly faces. TPS always, always takes the humor in weird/different directions and simultaneously portrays the President in at like 5 different ways. It’s the difference between a lazy parody
