Alright, so, I wrote this headline before I saw the gunsight on the horn button. Not a fan. Everything else, though. On point.

These are IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). IIHS tests vehicles that are sold in the US to their specific standards and gives them a ranking for safety. Because their purpose is to improve/demonstrate vehicle safety to the consumer they choose to evaluate vehicles that sell in larger volumes to guide

That was pretty impressive. Any time the deformation doesn’t make it past the edge of the front fender an/or A-pillar, occupant protection is a win.

Well, if they did have to redesign the vehicle to meet safety standards as is rumored, they done her good the second time around.

Now playing

Reminds me of the guy who built the working 1/4 model of a 312PB from scratch. Yes I know its an old vid that everyone has seen, but I will take any excuse to rewatch it:

The fuel pump for the Rocketdyne F1 engine was actually a turbo pump, viewed along side the thrust chamber near the top, exhausting through the heat exchanger and tapered tube wrapping around the exhaust nozzle. It used a ‘small’ fraction of the fuel supply to run itself to pump the much larger amount of pressurized

My grandfather said that when they were testing the F1 engines at Stennis in Mississippi that it felt like a category 3 earthquake 45 miles away and with a bunch of swamplands in between... jesus...

The V didn’t mess around. My video teacher covered the Apollo missions. He told us about how loud it was. At the 3 mile line, he was “knocked on his ass” and how the NASA press people advised them not to use microphones because they would be “ruined.”

Thanks...BMW confirmed the 3.0 but haven’t confirmed the HP/TQ ratings. Which is weird for a car that will go on sale next month.

3.0L and 8-Speed are confirmed according to their CARB filings.

There are some scientists that view viruses as animals. Therefore the Subaru STI could be added to this list.

Penis.

HORSE SNAKE PLANE

I played around with the BMW configurator and you can still get a manual on the 340i xDrive sedan and 440i xDrive coupe. I believe those are the only two models available with awd and a manual.

Actually, the first gen S4 competed with the E36 M3. That’s a bit unfair though because the American E36 M3 was a neutered version of the real M3.

Yeah, she seems to have forgotten about the car that started the segment..

You should also mention that when you get into your car, turn it on, and start the defrosters - DO NOT - just turn try and immediately turn the wipers on. There’s a little transmission between the wiper motor and your wiper arm/blades and this is a very easy way to FUBAR it. It doesn’t take much ice (or frost even
