This is unbelieveable to hear. How can people live in a society whereby they will be terrified to ‘feel’ or even be sick? Just get a blanket healthcare system.
Here’s the average for London buses that are hybrid. These are imperial not US gallons.
I know buses in London and other cities have a hybrid system. From memory at stanstill the bus isn’t running and then when they set off it is electric with the diesel engine kicking in at a certain speed. Sometimes between stops it would just be running electric if the traffic was slow moving.

Unfortunately when rhetoric like “America is supposed to be the greatest country on earth” is constantly spouted progress won’t be made in areas that really matter.

The City of London, “the city”, has it’s own Police force, it’s own council authority and Mayor (more of a decorative title if anything) but is mainly just the financial square mile distract within central London (the bit tourists would be more familiar with) which itself falls within greater London.
