In the UK at least we don’t get those proper LC and G’s. Not the billy basic proper ones. Just lots of pick-ups, but I can confirm, they can no way perform off road like a standard (original) Defender does.

Who buys these sort of vehicles? Just bland, not exciting, and not particularly great at any specific task.
You guys are literally fixated on power numbers, and that is it. Give it a rest.
To me those recesses almost look like little toe hold/steps to reach the roof. There seems to be a recess just underneath them which would suggest similar.
I know, I was throwing one around DST a few weeks back. Although that ageing Defender seemed to take it well, my backside after being in the back of one up to Hull didn’t think much to it.
500mm according to Piston Heads
Funny isn’t it that a colour and wheel change actually make it look almost ‘squaddie proof’. My first ‘Ninety’ had this colour combination with a healthy dose of patina.
So the best and most Defender looking Defender is this, and not LR.
Hmmm, I’ve had two Defenders in the past and I like them. I also drive them in the Army.
There’s quite a lot, or was quite a lot of them in the UK.
My old Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.9d only had 69hp and 92lb-ft or torque. It weighed 2607lbs unladen. I remember then putting over 700kg of weightlifting plates in the back to transport. That was slow. But even though it was lowe powered and low torque it just chugged along.
It will never die though.
Hi would have only got about £130 for the Skoda at current rates.
I dunno, I think 1970's designed cars from the USA were the best.
Will it go through the ‘donut’ at the Leconfield school of defence transport with a newly qualified 17 year old at the helm though?
I drive these things in the Military.
I don’ think he would be that bothered.
Please tell us more from your repertoire...you sound like a lot of fun!
Maybe.
My only worry about the car is corrosion.
