I’ll play a devil’s advocate here. Lawmakers want to kill the diesel engines, but they are still topping the sales lists across the Europe. Any newcomer at Le Mans could capitalise heavily on that. Go against the desires from above and make money by promoting a diesel brand.

Maybe the plants are just enjoying the show.

I agree. Competitive drifting is like the figure skating or the rhythmic gymnastics of the motorsport. Showboating, rather than a fast way to go through a corner.

Exactly. Joest was one of the top teams, (if not the top) that were flying the Porsche flag when the works team was not present. And they have the same special relationship with Audi, right now.
Also, I’m pretty sure that many people in Audi and VW would actually like to see the R18 race again, with a diesel power.

Thanks for the tip! If I may recommend something for you, have a look a The Nice Guys, a not-so-well known movie from the last year, but when you look who is involved.....really worth watching. It is genuinely entertaining and refreshing, and probably a future cult classic.

I would definitely like her to get back to a high profile job, because Bentley isn’t really that. Penske, or if (or when) Peugeot gets back to Le Mans.

If a car ends up in private hands, there is little that can be done. And I’m pretty sure there are many people in Audi who would actually like to see a diesel Audi defeat Porsche (and Toyota).

In 1996 and 97, Porsche did care who would win. A Joest-entered and funded WSC-95 (modified Jaguar chassis with a Porsche engine) franken-car defeated Porsche’s brand new 911 GT1. Same chassis, 2 years in a row; the same happened in 1984 and 85 (except there was no Porsche works team in 84), and it was an old 956

You mean like Joest did in 1985, 1996 and 1997?

She is working for Bentley now.

Audi Sport and the people working there have absolutely nothing to do with dieselgate.

I’ve got a solution for your suffering.

That’s the helmet used during the Barcelona tests.

Am I the only one who really likes the shape of the 917/20? I like the wide bodywork, it looks very much like the Group C cars, minus the wing and the venturis.
I bet if it was painted in Martini livery, it would’ve been much more revered.

This is Esteban Ocon’s helmet. It’s going to like a nipple on a tit.

Hopefully, they’ll hire someone who will get rid of massive and useless grilles and make their cars look purposeful again.

Completely off topic, but we need an article about this:

I get you pain, but I don’t accept any excuses or justifications for McLaren, and certainly not Honda. A team with such a budget and manufacturer backing should not be such a failure.

I’ve done some thinking, and I genuinely can’t find a movie that I’ve seen a dozen or more times. Not even some sitcom episodes.
The only thing that I might’ve seen that many times are the certain motorsport videos, like the WRC highlights, but the short ones, 10 min tops.
I did however, see the new Mad Max 3 times in
