From a business perspective, live-service games is a great idea, but there has to be something for players to sink their teeth into. A reason to keep coming back. Either a compelling ongoing narrative and MMO/RPG elements like WOW/Destiny 2/Final Fantasy XIV, or a hardcore competitive scene like Fortnite/Apex/COD/CS.

Oh good, so not only did they learn the opposite of what Suicide Squad’s failure should have taught them, they’ve also decided to only milk four franchises from now on.

Can’t discount the hardware design either. Nintendo threaded the needle in three ways as it hit the goldilocks on screen size, battery life and weight - not to mention the true innovation of the charging dock, allowing big screen gameplay that “Just works”.

Something that was a massive barrier to entry for me into handheld games was the small screen. I had no desire to shrink what were already limited graphics into an even more limited (and usually uglier) small screen.

I know I say this every time, but Nintendo is the only company that truly understands handhelds. Everyone else, from the GameGear to the Vita has tried selling portable consoles, not realizing that what people really want are portable games. Games designed around small screens and short play sessions.

Good because despite this site putting up an article, then updating and bumping that article up, graphics mode is awful and I just can’t do it.Yes, it’s clearer and higher resolution, but it looks choppy, and awful, and it’s an easy pass for me.
