On Bluesky, not much going on so far. Hoping it becomes the go-to, if for no other reason than watching Elmo implode when it does.

It seems most likely to me that it’ll be revealed by the end of February, so that Pokemon can announce a game for it on Pokemon day (2/27). The latest I can see it happening is early April (right after Princess Peach Showtime releases)
My theory is that Nintendo is gonna announce the Switch either around the end of fiscal year 2023, or beginning of fiscal year 2024. Which is in March 2024.
Being updated to say it can be played on both Switch and Switch 2 makes sense, sounds like a good marketing move. If old copies are disappearing, that seems like they’d have to release the new versions soon, right? Like next couple weeks? And if the new versions mention Switch 2 compatibility, then the Switch 2 would…
Fahrenheit continues to be perfect for weather specifically, which is why we cling to it:
0F - “It’s really cold outside”
100F - “It’s really hot outside”
For all other temperature work, I agree. We ought to switch to Kelvin so that everyone is just slightly irritated all the time.
It’ll be a packed flight, you may have to go on standby.
I’m sure it will all go swimmingly.
Then you’ll be the coolest car out there.
What if you have Joystick drift?
I could go for a Blitzball Manager - one of the highlights of the FFX battle system is that each character (except Kimahri) is designed for a specific type of enemy and they can be swapped at any time in battle with no penalty. That type of attitude could easily be worked into a Blitzball game where you control what…
Tetra Master is actually a fun game when you know how to play it, but it’s absurd that they went to such lengths to obfuscate the rules. I vastly prefer it to Triple Triad, but only because I went out of my way to learn it.
I think with hindsight, we can say that Blitzball should either aim to be “Blitzball Manager” or full on “BIBA2024" and not the awkward middle ground it ended up being in FFX.
I loved Blitzball, the FF minigame that actually deserves derision is FF9's card game, where they directly tell you they aren’t sure how the rules work.
You don’t need to miss it! Serious Sam 4 came out in 2020, and Siberian Mayhem in 2022! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1792250/Serious_Sam_Siberian_Mayhem/
I’ve always miss Serious Sam. Glad to know someone is taking up the torch
This list makes me want a new Descent
I like the idea of Blitzball - both as an in-universe sport and as an element in the game. I like the idea of underwater soccer played in three dimensions. I like the role the sport plays in Spira, bringing joy to an otherwise joyless world. I like having the main character be a professional athlete in the sport…
Just as an FYI, the game mechanics of Blitzball (mixing RPG elements when the ball carrier meets with a defender) was straight out of Captain Tsubasa soccer games that have been popular in Japan since 1988.
Watch the abridged version at www.onepace.net. It cuts out all the filler and makes the episodes about 45% faster.
I’ve had half-thoughts in 20 yers about during retirement trying to marathon all 30+ seasons of the simpsons.
