Well, that was pretty much what I assumed. I wish that reupping posts would create new comments sections.

Off-topic, but is there a reason Jalopnik is reposting old articles of yours periodically? I think there were two yesterday, and another today.
How much do we bet that it is filled with speedboats and shirtless guys drinking beer?
I think people should buy cars if they only absolutely need a car in these times today. It’s a seller’s market. Dealer markups are real, and buying a new car for the sake of buying a new car just perpetuates dealer markups because people are willing to pay these bullshit prices.
“Presumably the grocery store is able to make it up in other ways that stand alone gas stations can’t.”
This Batmobile is a fustercluck of parts, as if Wayne cobbled it together himself, which in itself is so refreshing from the tanks and motorized dildos that the production designers have had a fetish providing for the past 25 years.
Actually Shell and BP aren’t suing. The owners of the gas stations are suing. They aren’t owned by Shell or BP. Carry on.
Geez! Get a garage, you two!
Such laws are akin to anti-dumping laws which prohibit companies from selling goods below cost. The larger companies can afford to take a temporary hit on sales in order to gain/maintain their dominance in a sector by driving out smaller competitors who do not have the financial ability to weather a below-cost sales…
Is there a Batmobile that hasn’t looked dorky in person? I’ve seen the “Batman Returns” one and it looks really chintzy and fake up close. Movie cars are kinda built with the idea that you won’t get to look too closely.
Totally agree, that Batmobile kicked ass! Looked and sounded so aggresive. I had the biggest smile on my face during the big chase scene.
Not only does this Batmobile fucking RULE, it was extremely refreshing to see a big-ticket action movie that wasn’t bought for advertising by any of the big car companies.
Imagine someone with a student loan and a brand new car loan.
I assume the plan is to keep deferring them until inflation makes a $10K balance seem like nothing.
The insurance company doesn’t work for you, it works for shareholders. You’re screwed.
So overpriced cars, overpriced loans. Yeah it’s like the 2000- 2005 housing market, but with cars.
Regarding lack of chargers. I think the REAL constraint on EV adoption is for people that don’t own a single family home.
I end up talking to a lot of people about car-buying. I’ve been telling them all to wait. It’s funny how people see other car-buying and think it means they also need to buy. I guess you gotta keep up with the Jones. It’s crazy though. So many people with perfectly serviceable cars just have to go out and get the new…
Glad to see there is still no editing or proofreading being done before publishing articles at Jalopnik.
