Cooder seemed to make good friends everywhere. He made some wonderful collaborations with Flaco Jimenez, whom you can call the grandfather of Conjunto music.

Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder recorded this tune, written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin, before The Monkees did (and released it as the b-side to their first single, “Last Train to Clarksville” in 1966). Unfortunately, this Rising Sons version was not released until 1992.
