Hawaii lost the last of the greatest family in slack key guitar, the middle son of Gabby, Bla Pahinui. Take a drive thru the area he loved, the beaches he used to take care of for the parks dept.& enjoy a heartfelt song about the loss of the Hawaiian’s land, more important than ever with the current battles going on

Back in the 80's the Hawaii rock & punk scene had one common name that seemed to be involved in every cool band. His name was Frank Orrall and we all knew he was going to go on to bigger and better things. Eventually he left Hat Makes the Man, Mumbo Jumbo, and a bunch of other local bands and started Poi Dog Pondering

Taj like Ry was super influenced by Gabby. He called him “Pops” like the locals. This is a Gabby song Ry played on the original covered by Taj.

Hawaii lost another music legend on Saturday. The son of one of original father’s of slack key guitar, Gabby Pahinui, Cyril was an amazing player and person. Sometimes these guys would get together and play guitar for days in the backyards of Waimanalo. A hui hou uncle Cyril!

Honorary Hawaiian Ziggy Marley - Beach in Hawaii

Yes but reality tv loving true Americans need shit wrapped up in one season.

Soon’s rocks but Dong Yang Inn will always be my favorite Korean!  Especially after dawn patrol country run.

Bruddah Allan, you got the vienna sausage right but try Spam or better yet, do the Pocho sausage (Haoles call it Portuguese sausage or Linguica) with your eggs and save the bacon to make your fried rice!  Broke da mouth!

Rainbows is the best, I lived off the Chili plate in the 80's, it was $2 for a full days worth of calories.  Starving college kid, scrape my change to buy one and decide if I should go to class or go surf!  Side note for the Haoles, chili must have rice underneath & mac salad on the side.  Even people that grew up in
