Well then they should get out completely rather than do a half-assed job of it. Makes no difference to me, I owned one of their cars once, and it was rubbish. I would not buy anything from them.

Is he really this stupid or just playing to the level of his supporters?
That's what I meant, those cars were great, and ahead of their time. It would be a cool story, and I think they would sell. If they didn't screw it up, of course.
Not if this time they did it right.
Then they are doomed. Because people will only buy cars they want. The smart ones anyway.
I think you meant precedent, not “president”, but I know I would buy a Mazda 6, before a Chrysler 6.
Jeep. A four door AWD sedan and wagon from the Cherokee, and a hatchback from the Renegade.
True, although that probably had to do more with it being a small pickup that could have been named anything and still sold.
The truth is none of them are going to sell at the volume they once did. So how bout this; you add a line at the Jeep factory, reverse engineer the Cherokee into an AWD sedan and wagon, call it the Eagle, and try to do battle with Subaru?
All of that is true, but I don't understand why they can't improve the car they have? Make it more reliable, make it better. Christ these guys have been making cars for a hundred years, is it really that difficult?
It seems ridiculous, but that is probably the only answer.
That was my first thought, but of course they would screw that up and forever tarnish the brand.
Both Ford and GM can sell their small cars, so the question has to be asked, what is Chryslers problem?
I don't get it. If it is just going to be a rebadged Mazda or whatever, why wouldn't I just buy a Mazda instead? I see nothing but doom on the horizon for FCA.
For another 10 grand I would rather buy a Cayman if I was going buy any Porsche, but I could see this for someone who had to have a CUV. I would expect to see a lot more of them at that price.
It does according to Car & Driver, with a new aluminum block.
This article mentioned nothing about the engine, which is in fact going to be a new aluminum block turbo 5 cyl. Which is about the most exciting thing about it.
Probably the smart move.
No longer a mystery once you have them, sure. But if you are telling me you knew what it entailed before you had had them you are either clairvoyant or the smartest person on the planet.
If you think you know what its like to have kids because you were one, you are in for some lessons my friend.
