So they want to make an even uglier Panamera? Volkswagen is turning Bugatti into the automotive equivalent of German fetish porn.

Form truly follows function.

I am not saying the design was timeless. Just the car taken as a whole.

It was originally designed by Marcello Gandini, so yeah, there's more than a little Lambo in there.

Could not agree more. It may have been designed and built by Italians, but it is much more of a “true” Bugatti than either the Veyron or Chiron.

People have to realize this was 25 years ago. There was simply nothing like it, except the McLaren F1. And it was fairly reliable and easy to drive.

It raced at both Sebring and LeMans, and very well before retiring with mechanical trouble. Michael Schumacher owned one.

I suppose you think a Countach is ugly as well, but if the EB110 is ugly, the Chiron is truly hideous.

Well, if this article was good for anything, this sentence helped me expand my word power:

I am actually hoping the new model succeeds, and give Lincoln credit for trying to improve it and keep costs down.

The comment was not meant to be taken seriously, you are correct as always.

I also think that buyers of a $200,000 supercar worry about things like reliability or fuel economy like someone buying a Honda Civic, but again, I could be wrong....

The point I was trying to make is that I would suspect a new 2016 Ferrari is more reliable than a new 2005 Ferrari. Or at least I would like to think so.

They did rename it. It's called the McLaren 570s.

The Japanese love the three letter acronym.

I am still clinging to the hope that (a) there will be a new Supra, and (b) Toyota won't fuck that up.

It's a Ford=Murican

Don’t kid yourself, the NSX is an incredibly complicated car, like the GTR, that at some point will be a lot more to maintain than an Accord. Also, Ferrari and all European super cars have gotten more reliable, the 360 you keep referring to is a 10-15 year old car.

Until you pointed this out, I didn't even realize that Honda was just trying to one up the GTR. Probably because they keep claiming the benchmark was a Ferrari.

From the small amount of empirical data out there on the NSX, there is no question this thing is fast, and with the right tire selection can get around a racetrack rather well. However, your criticisms about weight, lack of steering feel and rather clinical demeanor are all valid. The antidote for a car like this is
