I wonder if you’re giving the other women too much credit. Could their expressions represent something else, and none of them even thought of the ‘but he’s an accused child molester’ argument? Maybe they just wanted her to shut up, or they’re trying to act interested when they’re actually bored.

The female characters Allen creates, for the last several years at least, have been mostly damaged, unpleasant, one dimensional caricatures at best written with blatant misogyny.
