Like, I wanna be like, “LULZ, funny, you get a star,” but I actually just have a pit in my stomach now. (You still get the star, tho)

It’s reverse propaganda. Reading between the lines, Obama’s really saying, “dear God, please, you all can’t be as awful as the shitbags that voted in Trump. Please please for the love of all that is holy and good, don’t be as terrible as you seem.”
This country is fucking stupid. Obama is going to leave with a high approval rating of around 60%, with a majority approving of how he handled major things like terrorism, the economy, and health care. Meanwhile, instead of choosing the candidate Obama endorsed and who promised to build on his legacy, they chose…
I am very disappointed at the lack of transparency in Obama’s administration, but at least he had the brains to just be distant rather than antagonistic. Jeez, even when he did something “wrong” he still did it better than Trump on his best day.
I wish I had 1/4 of the faith in the fundamental goodness of people and hope that Barack Obama does. I used to be a more positive about it, but since the election it’s been incredibly difficult. I felt like I finally saw people’s true colors, people who I actually know who I thought were smarter and more…
Oh how he will be missed. I am so happy I have Friday off of work so I can lounge in my pjs and ugly cry during the inauguration.
I’m not sure what you mean. I’m just saying Trump doesn’t strike me as a trickle-down conservative so no reason for him to support this. Trump is not as conservative on economic issues as other Republicans so he knows repealing the ACA will make a huge mess and the fact that the press won’t report on all the poor…
I think Trump knows that his base doesn’t really want an end to the ACA so he’ll make a huge splash by vetoing the repeal. Trump has a golden opportunity here to stand up to Congress and he bladder take it.
Yep. Between this and the Bush daughters’ letter to Sasha and Malia I’ve been having a lot of feels on behalf of the Bush family lately. It’s Bizarro World up in here.
Bill Clinton fake-coughs into his hand. “I’m so sick,” he drawls. “I think I’ll bail and just binge-watch some ‘Criminal Minds’ instead.”
Politics aside, I do send him my best wishes. I also feel for W, who I’m sure would rather spend time with his father than be at the inauguration. Because real talk, “responding well to treatments” at age 92 is pretty guarded language.
“Man, if I had a suit jacket button for every time I fucked up over the past few years...”
He’s a bit of a mixed bag. Was arrested for protesting apartheid in S Africa but was criticized by SCLC for being silent on issues like black voter disenfranchisement in Florida during the 2000 election. You’re thinking of Bernice, his sister.
And that’s the worst part for me: nobody went “crazy.” The people of Germany didn’t have a collective psychological episode where they blacked out and woke up to find that, with the connivance of large segments of almost every other European country, they’d somehow slaughtered millions of innocent people.
The irony is, most of the deception at the time was to prevent victims from realizing what was about to happen to them. From a description of the arrival site at Treblinka:
While some camps made a weak effort to conceal their murderous operations, Sobibor was clearly a death camp: prisoners were often taken straight from the trains to the gas chambers. After an uprising in October 1943, Nazis destroyed the camp and attempted to eradicate all evidence of the killings. But researchers have…
But does it come with a key fob that declares “I have POC friends” ...?
Wow. Of course, the info that Strom Thurmond fathered a daughter out of wedlock with a black woman didn’t come out until after he died.
Today I learned, that son of a bitch Strom Thurmond stayed in office until he died in 2003.
