This flag has existed for decades. It wasn't created by the blue lives matter people.
For what it’s worth, that is a thin blue line flag. It has been a symbol of law enforcement for decades and only recently adopted by the all lives matter crowd.

Another problem in these scenarios is that a person full on physically attacking an officer can harm them regardless of why the attack is happening.
