Oh, and I see a big difference between destruction and taking away. The former includes implied violence which the latter does not.

Ok. If you think the goal of parenting is to make your kid scared of you I can’t change your mind.

Oh, and emotional abuse comes in lots of forms, not just insults. Destruction of property includes an implied threat of violence. It’s a big part of a lot of domestically abusive relationships. Usually scales up from inanimate property destruction (wall punching, etc) to bigger stuff like destroying passports. Abuse

Neither is ok. You’re replacing physical abuse with emotional abuse.

I’m also a hug person. But good God, if someone doesn’t look into it or moves away or expressly says “no” (and Jerry did all three!), I don’t go in for the hug! Consent, it’s pretty easy to figure out!

Love those. They’re also available on Amazon (at least in USA).

Seaside is where it’s at. That damn mouse coaster with the switchbacks gave me whiplash every time.

There are dozens of us!

My sister in law married a man with the same name as her brother. The whole family refers to them as [wife’s name]’s Kyle and [other wife’s name]’s Kyle. I think the whole thing’s weird.

What? That’s one guy in the NBA, not an entire culture of “unwritten rules” horseshit.

Also because that was popular in the early 90s, the height of his popularity.

This gif now exists in a Trump-specific version!

And I find myself reaching for this

A girlfriend of mine had sealed jars of peanut butter (Peter Pan brand, the good stuff!) confiscated because they were “smearable.”

That would have been a more eloquent retort than “no puppet, no puppet.”

Oh Jesus Christ, she already beat him once, she would have done it again.

Reines seems to have done a good job in this role, as Clinton is generally understood to have won all three debates (not that it kept her opponent from the Oval Office, of course!)

That song makes me happy because I think of the end of Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion. C’est la vie.

He’s not asking them to prove causation, he’s asking them to allege causation, which they failed to do. “X happened then 5 years later Y happened” does not suffice to survive a MTD. It’s conclusory.
