This is super super common at dealerships. Don’t ask don’t tell is standard procedure at most. A dealer never questions things if the salesperson is moving cars out the door. He was probably promising customers that they would be first in line for desirable cars, and for a fee maybe only have to pay retail.

Yes.  Dealers that do this leave so much money on the table compared to scummy ones it very difficult to be competitive.   I believe the dealer quoted in this article is in this situation. 

I had some time in at a dealership. And personnel issues cover the whole dealer not just sales. But in the past you had the ability to kind of “put your time in” and move up to something better, less stressful better hours etc. But that just doesn’t happen anymore and it’s hard to keep people when they see this.  And

A lot of boomers I know were the spoiled ones. Most had dream job opportunities and benefits that millennials would kill for.  Most worked 35 hours a week and are enjoying a nice pension.

Shouldn't this be in nice price or crack pope?
